On July 3, 2004, Ron Paul was the only Congressman to vote against a bill hailing the 40th anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. In this speech to Congress,

via Civil Rights Act.

To understand this vote is to understand the Ron Paul form of Libertarian viewpoint. Being a strict constitutionalist, Ron Paul felt this legislation was too far-reaching and would have consequences that adversely affected racial equality.

And truth be told, it did. The act raised tensions and promoted unfairness in the workplace. Let me take some quotes with brief comments from myself.

The forced integration dictated by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 increased racial tensions while diminishing individual liberty. – Ron Paul

Indeed it did. Although, the intent was noble.

The rights of all private property owners, even those whose actions decent people find abhorrent, must be respected if we are to maintain a free society. – Ron Paul

A very unpopular statement. However, hate groups still have the right to spew their hurtful messages. For the purpose of not being able to stifle other groups at random.

Racial quotas have not contributed to racial harmony or advanced the goal of a color-blind society. Instead, these quotas encouraged racial balkanization, and fostered racial strife. – Ron Paul

Very factual. Any time a job is required to filled to meet a quota, just ice is not served for the person hired or the others competing for the job.

Indeed, changes needed to be made at that time inclusive of legislation.   Not at the expense of the freedoms awarded by the founders.

I know this topic and my view will initiate a heated response. It is not meant to speak in a negative fashion to or about the racially oppressed.

I thank God for the improvements in racial equality. I also understand why Ron Paul did what he did at the time. It was an over reach of federal power among  that set  the ball rolling towards the “police state” we have just become.

Gadhafi’s Gold-money Plan Would Have Devastated Dollar.

Ever wondered where the rest of the story was with Libya? Why out of all the countries in the world having issues, NATO picked them?

I for one bought into the idea of Obama needing another notch in his belt for the upcoming election. However, it seems there was more to this than originally thought.

Gadhafi had introduced a plan to quit selling oil using US dollars as payment. Instead, he proposed a continent-wide gold standard adoption  that would have crushed the world economy.

As I’m sure most already know, the U.S. stopped the gold standard some time ago and our tender is only guaranteed by the trust and good faith of the red, white, and blue.  And furthermore, the U.S. dollar is still the common  “world currency” standard.

So we know the ending to this story. Isn’t it interesting what the news doesn’t tell you?

Also, of merit.

Alan Colmes Mocks Santorum For Bringing Dead Son Home | RealClearPolitics.

I have found in life that I sometimes am my biggest fan. Mostly when it comes to humor. As I have grown older, I have realized, I’m just not that funny.

Some things I noticed when watching this clip.

  • He thought he was funny. Witty even.
  • He had the gall to complain about being interrupted after making such a hurtful statement.
  • He feigned indignation when scolded for such disrespectful behavior.

My hope is Mr. Colmes learns some of the same life lessons I have. And please, think before you speak. That despicable display will not be forgotten soon.

Be blessed readers!

Now it would be interesting if Glenn let Mr. Romney finish that sentence. I do believe ol’ Mitt would have hung himself.

Goodness forbid Mr. Romney ever actually makes it to the White House. I think ol’ Glenn might be in some trouble!

I’m no expert but, I didn’t know a member of the press would ever get ” the talking to” in Office Depot!

If Mitt doesn’t think his britches are big, I bet he at least thinks he needs a belt!

Respect the candidate!

Thanks and be blessed!

I never could figure out why I didn’t fit into the two major political parties. I was too “liberal” to be a good Republican and too “conservative” to be a good Democrat.

That’s not to say that I was a moderate. Because, I feel very strongly for my views, they just happen to have strong voices in both major US parties.

So I started listening to this Ron Paul guy. I mean really listening and studying. And this guy was speaking my language! Liberty through small government and reliance on personal responsibility! Or as they say, ” Minimum Government, Maximum Freedom .”

I have to tell you, I thought there was not a place for me. As it turns out, I have found a new political home.

If you really want the government out of your business and other countries affairs, why not check it out?

Grainy B&W image of supposed UFO, Passoria, Ne...

From, Jeffery Pritchett, Marianna Paranormal Examiner,

” Wouldn’t it be wonderful if mass UFO sightings began to appear over Occupy Wallstreet movements nationwide? To show that we do indeed have celestial back up that desire for the planet Earth to change into something more glorious. Imagine the prickly grins of the corrupt bankers and politicians and stock brokers then to see that we have our courageous Space brothers and sisters on our side backing us up! Imagine the absolute high strange weird of it all! After all UFOs have shown up over political rallies and Nuclear reactors and things to that nature to make an obvious point of positive change worth noting. ”

To comment on this is tough. I do believe the point is it would make some great media coverage. Keep in mind, this appears to be a  “contributor ” content type of news website. That’s great! Bad news is, I could write there.

And the most shocking video I found.

Shameful. And I hear more and more of it. Sickening. Disgusting.  In 2011, people should know better.

Story from

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2011/10/occupy_la_protestor_a_proud_jew_hater.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

For the people reading this blog for the first time, I have been talking and reading on Twitter for about eight months. And being successful in Twitter communication has very real challenges.

One of the first things I noticed very quickly was that people want to be heard. Being a news and politic junkie of sorts, I have witnessed political tweets  really “pack a punch”  in order to draw in your attention. And not being a college graduate, I had to surf the net the meaning of

Propaganda .

Now to me, propaganda means things you say to make you look good and the other person, not so much. Propaganda is normally designed to have people agree or disagree with a certain point, cause , or person with not as much thought as you would normally give the subject matter.

Propaganda is not always a bad thing, But is very valuable to have tools to  spot propaganda in order to stop, think, and understand what this person or media  is wanting you to buy into. In other words, it’s a ” do your homework” sign!

So here we go. Seven different types of propaganda.

  • Glittering Generalizations – Vague words with little meaning used in a context of sounding positive. It looks good and  sounds good but has little true meaning in context. Democracy is a good example because it means different things to different people but sounds good to all.
  • Transfer – An emotional and usually visible projecting of images or qualities used either to add credit or discredit. In my state, a gubernatorial candidate giving a speech in front of a coal tipple would be a good example.
  • Name Calling– A tactic used for the purpose of having persons form opinions before looking at facts. An emotional trigger used to sway a person without having them think.
  • Card Stacking- Giving some facts and leaving out others in order to sway an opinion based only on the facts you give. In my opinion, one of the most commonly used types of propaganda and also more difficult to spot.  Pointing blame at a Mayor for not getting new sidewalks put in without mentioning that city council refused to approve the funding is a telltale sign of “Card Stacking.”
  • Testimonial- Using a famous, respectable, or comfortable type person to influence a persons opinion. Queen Latifah pushing make up or Oprah endorsing a political candidate. Both are great uses of a “testimonial”
  • Plain Folks- The act presenting  someone or an idea being “just like you” or ” just like an regular/ average person” would think in order to build trust or buy in to an idea.
  • Band Wagon- Promoting an idea as correct or the right thing to do or think because others are doing it and you don’t want to miss out.  Jumping on the “Herman Cain train” is jumping on the band wagon.

So why point this out? Mainly a learning lesson for myself. But also a way for you to identify,  step back , and think before reacting.

Because propaganda is not a bad thing. Not knowing that it is could be!
