Many that know me have noticed I have been on a tirade for the last couple days.  I suffer from quite a bit of disappointment when I see the masses giggle with glee over this whole rapture idea.  So I have a few things to say.

  1. Ok so first, Did you really think you were that freaking funny?  Who do you know that even came up with their own joke?
  2. Well, do you feel better now granted your big accomplishment on figuring out the rapture was not today? I mean , even for those that study the Bible, was it that much of a scriptural challenge?
  3. Did you at least pray for those poor souls that have lost everything?  That likely includes hope in God, salvation, life savings, relationships with relatives.  The list really goes on and on.
  4. And finally, for Rob Bell fans, did you not just finish that book?  Truthfully, I didn’t but, I’m not a fan.  How much love was given to these poor souls.  Our Christian brethren, by the way.

So you can tell me how they couldn’t hear your jokes.  You can hope what you thought and said didn’t hurt them.  You can excuse yourself for whatever bad experience you had that made you mad at those over zealous  horn blowers.  But think!  that could have been part of your journey.  Or maybe it was at some point.  And in that case, shame on you, you should know better.

Now, drink up!  Cheers!  Back to your party.  But on a closing note.  That whole silly hell thing.  What if your wrong?  Who’s going to be smug then?

Folks, I have never met this man.  It is very possible I may never until we get to the promised land.

Most of you already know him.  Most better than me.  His name is Gene Anderson and he suffers from Bipolar Disorder.

The disease gets a lot more attention now an that is good.  But is still very painful for the one suffering from the illness and those around him.  The severe mood swings when not treated properly make it very difficult to be around the person or even be that person.  One of the biggest problems is the vast majority of common medications for the illness are just plain ” boring” to the sufferer.  It seems to , at least in the short term , take away the passion.  That gut passion to do the things in which they excel.

This person just happens to excel as a homeless advocate, a Pastor, and an all around good person.  He is a great person in need.  One of the reasons I am here with you, the Outlaw Preachers.

Please take the time to pay attention.  Drop a line.  Say a prayer.  Make a call.  Thank him for what he does and pray his meds level out.  Or just have a conversation.  This request is not from him.  It is out of my own selfish want for him to be around and be the Gene I know.  Because he inspires me as a true servant of God.

Does the sound happy to you?  Seriously?

Folks, I need your help.  I want to be a blogger.  That’s the first thing.  I’m not really sure why I want to be a blogger.  I think it’s because I get a lot of information from blogs and tend to look up to those that blog well.

I have read that in order to have a successful blog, it must stay on topic, be timely , and interesting.  Problem is, I’m truly not that interesting.  But, I would like to be, “interesting”.

So I read a glimpse of a person that attended a different church per week for a year.  I would like to attend a different denomination per week ” or so ” to get a real life education on what makes all these groups click.  With interviews, pictures, and brief back round study.

My thought is it would help me grasp an understanding of denominations in real time.  What makes them tick.  Makes them unique.  Or alike.

So give me some suggestions.  What would you like to see happen?  Would it interest you?  What would you like to know?  I would like it to be somewhat interactive.  So , help me out!
